Roaring Twenties explores the exuberance, and irrepressible joy of vocal music from the 1920s. From the boundary-pushing French art songs of Satie and Poulenc, to the blossoming of American jazz under composers like Gershwin and Ellington, this program will help us usher in our new era of the roaring 2020s. The venue, Overflow Coffee, operates out of the recently renovated VeeJay Records building Chicago's South Loop. The concert will will also honor the legacy of the musicians that recorded with VeeJay Records, and played a pivotal role in the blues, pop, and jazz scene of Chicago over the past century.
